A 32-year-old man with a background history of alcohol dependency and IV drug use had a witnessed collapse on the street. Upon arrival of the ambulance the patient is found to be unresponsive. The pre-hospital observations are as follow:
PR 122 BP 82/62 RR 38 SaO2 unrecordable
On arrival in the ED, the patient was found to be in cardiorespiratory arrest. CPR was commenced and an echocardiogram was achieved on the 2nd pulse check. This sub xiphoid view is obtained in the 10 second pause.
