A- Tell him he has definitely not had a SAH and let him leave with no follow up

B – Since the patient is neurologically well and that his headache has resolved, you consider that the probability of his having suffered a SAH (before the CT scan) is probably less than 5%. You estimate from what you know that the sensitivity of CT scanning at 8 hours in this population is at least 90% but maybe higher. Using these figures you calculate that the probability of this gentleman having suffered a SAH having had a normal CT is about 1 in 200. You discuss the pros and cons of a LP with the patient and he elects to make an informed decision not to undergo this procedure

C- You tell him that while it is good his CT is normal this does not completely rule out a SAH and you elect to perform a LP with the patient's consent
