Pre-Hospital Communication Case 2

You are a BASICS doctor returning from a job. A multiple-car road traffic collision (RTC) has just happened in front of you, and cars are now spread over both carriageways of a busy motorway causing traffic to come to a standstill. You park safely with your lights on. After carrying out a scene assessment, you estimate that there are upwards of 30 casualties, mostly severely injured. Two cars are on fire. You contact control with a report.

What information should you give?

The stretch of motorway is several miles between junctions and control asks if there are any nearby landmarks to aid finding your exact location for further planning. You give them the nearest driver location sign number and the name of an adjacent farm – Fishton Farm.
