Case 3
An 8-year-old girl attends your ED with her mother who is concerned about a rash on her face. You discover that the rash began at the site of a scratch, which became red, itchy, weepy and then developed a yellow crust.
Mum treated the rash with some cream obtained from the GP and initially it improved but then several more spots appeared. Now the cream is not helping and the eczema on the patients arms has also become red and itchy which is preventing her from sleeping.
