Fluid Resuscitation
Hypothermic patients are generally dehydrated and fluid-depleted.
They should be given warmed 0.9% saline or dextrose-saline (preferrable, as patients may also be hypoglycaemic).
Hartmann's solution may be used but is best avoided as the hypothermic liver metabolises lactate poorly.
