A previously well patient is brought to the emergency department with a left sided weakness and dysphasia. The symptoms began two hours prior to presentation. A CT brain shows no evidence of haemorrhage but subtle early infarcts. The FBC shows anaemia and thrombocytopaenia with a white cell count of 163 x 109/L. The laboratory phone saying they have seen blasts in the film.
