Risk stratification
Risk stratify patients with PUD into one of the following groups:
- Life-threatening complications or haemodynamic instability requiring immediate resuscitation in the emergency department.
- Stable but requiring admission.
- Stable and can be safely discharged from the emergency department and managed on an outpatient basis. Arrange appropriate follow-up for those patients who are discharged.
