A 30-year-old woman presents to your Emergency Department (ED) accompanied by police after an assault by her partner. She reports that during the incident her partner grabbed her around her neck and applied pressure for several seconds. She describes feeling unable to breathe and the fear that she might lose consciousness. She also notes that she involuntarily passed urine during the assault.

On examination, there is no neck bruising. Her vital signs are normal. She is alert and appears anxious.
