Vascular parkinsonism

Features are:

Stuttering progression
Minimal tremor
Lower limbs affected more than upper limbs

Drug-induced parkinsonism

Features are:

  • Younger patient
  • Taking dopamine antagonists or lithium

Multi-system atrophy

Features are:

  • Marked postural hypotension
  • Sphincter disturbance
  • Cerebellar signs

Dementia with Lewy bodies

Features are:

  • Early progressive dementia
  • Nocturnal wandering and confusion

Progressive supranuclear palsy

Features are:

  • Axial rigidity
  • Failure of vertical gaze
