A 60-year-old woman attends the Emergency Department (ED) with tongue swelling that has developed over the previous few hours. She has no signs of impending airway compromise and no wheeze or rash.

She has never had this before and she has not started any new medication.

The Patient is generally fit and well but tells you she takes medication for blood pressure, a statin, aspirin and vitamin D.

You suspect acute angioedema.
