A 50-year-old man attends the Emergency Department (ED) with a 2-day history of a rash on his hands. The rash is not itchy or painful and he is systemically well. He has a past medical history of hypertension and is taking amlodipine. He also experiences occasional stiffness and swelling of his right knee, for which he takes ibuprofen as required.
He attended his GP last week with dysuria and frequency and was started on trimethoprim for a presumed urinary tract infection. His urinary symptoms have resolved.
