Pregnancy: Expectations vs. reality.
A 24-year-old female presents to the Emergency Department with nausea and vomiting for the past 2 days.
She cannot eat or drink without having nausea and vomiting.
Previously fit and well. This is her first pregnancy.
She appears tired and unwell with dry mucous membranes. She is pain-free on review but unable to tolerate sips of water.
You are called to assess and treat this patient.
