- Ultrasound artifacts are encountered daily in clinical practice and may be a source of confusion on interpretation.
- Mirror image artefact occurs at a highly reflective surface and appears to show the same structure on both sides of the surface.
- Edge artefact are shadows that occur deep to the curved walls (lateral on screen) of rounded structures, such as blood vessels, gallbladder, bladder, cysts etc.
