In late June, whilst on a school trip visiting a local nature reserve centre, a group of children were having a picnic and drinking lemonade after their play time.

A 6-year-old child had a tick bite on her left shoulder. The tick was removed later that evening in your Emergency Department (ED) Minor Injuries unit. Her parents were advised to return to the ED if she became unwell.

She presents 10 days later to your Paediatric Emergency Department with her parents as she is unwell. After assessing and examining this patient, you suspect that she now has Lyme disease.
