A 32-year-old male presents to your emergency department (ED) writhing in agony. He complains of acute onset colicky loin pain which radiates across the abdomen to the groin.
He vomited earlier and currently feels nauseous. His past medical history is unremarkable.
On examination, he is restless and tachycardic. Abdominal examination is unremarkable.
Urine dipstick is positive for blood (4+).
You suspect that he has renal colic.
