A 58-year-old male presents to your Emergency Department (ED) with a 6-hour history of reduced vision in the right eye. He describes it as being unable to see clearly with a sensation of a curtain coming down over his right eye with associated floaters. He denies eye pain or any flashes of light.
He also reports a 1-week history of intermittent, sharp, global headaches lasting hours, with no clear triggers. He has a past medical history of hypertension and his vital signs at triage are all within the normal ranges.
