Clinical Case 2
A 23-year-old female, who is 8 weeks pregnant, comes to the ED complaining of fever. She is generally fit and well, and very active. She believes an insect bit her while she was walking in the park 2 days ago. She feels pain at the bite site, however there is no visible tick. She has heard of Lyme disease from the internet and is now she is worried about her baby.
