A 12-year-old boy presents to the Emergency Department with left knee pain and swelling which he frequently experiences while playing at school. He is unable to fully straighten his knee and is holding it in partial flexion.
He denies any history of trauma but mentions that he has twisted his knee a few times while playing football. X-rays have been requested.
