Whilst holding onto a metal railing walking across a bridge in the rain and holding her metal umbrella, a pregnant 27-year-old female is struck by lightning and found unconscious by a passer-by who had observed a bolt of light flash through the evening sky.

She is brought by ambulance to your Emergency Department (ED) where she is thought to have been struck by lightning. On arrival, she regains consciousness. She has a vague recollection of events, but is orientated to place and person.  She has developed a new peculiar patterned skin lesion on the left side of her chest.
