A 26-year-old overweight male presents to your Emergency Department (ED) with an increased work of breathing and features of respiratory distress.

He is managed in resus and a portable chest x-ray is requested.

Over the past week he has been self-isolating with his girlfriend as they felt that they both had symptoms related to COVID-19.

He complains of a cough, generalised muscle aches and fatigue. His girlfriend is otherwise well at home.

He has no other medical conditions. He smokes 20 cigarettes daily and drinks three pints of beer every weekend.
