A 9-year-old girl attends the Emergency Department (ED) with a three day history of left wrist pain. This has developed progressively but there has been no injury.
On clinical examination there is marked tenderness on palpation of the left hypothenar region. There is also diffuse, but less severe tenderness around the left wrist. The patient is apyrexial and systemically well.
X-ray of the hand is shown.
