A 3-year-old boy presents to the emergency department by concerned parents with refusing to use his right arm. He had been playing on a monkey bar in the nursery before the injury. No one witnessed a fall.

On examination, the affected arm is held limply on his side, slightly flexed and pronated. There is no swelling, bruising or deformity. He refuses palpation but says his pain is mainly in his elbow. He is otherwise cheerful.

You decide this is a pulled elbow.
